Kyla Reid completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland and her Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney. Most recently she has been working with adults in private practice treating a wide range of psychological difficulties, including Posttraumatic Stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties and difficulties adjusting to life transitions. Previously Kyla has worked in community settings and for non-Government organisations, where her roles includes supporting maternal mental health during the post-natal period and working with adolescents.

 

To ensure an individualised and tailored approach to treatment, Kyla uses and draws from a variety of evidence based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) depending on her client’s presenting difficulties, needs and wishes.

 

Kyla is a warm therapist who understands that seeking help can be a challenging process and aims to provide a supportive and relaxed treatment environment. She is passionate about helping clients achieve the change they would like to see in their lives and equip them with the skills, knowledge and self-awareness they need to progress successfully following therapy.
