Melanie completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University. She has worked across private and public sectors assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with a range of difficulties across the lifespan. Her postgraduate research focused on the experience of parents of children with type 1 diabetes, and she has a particular interest in working with individuals with chronic health conditions,

 

Melanie is warm, compassionate, and genuine in her approach, taking time to listen and understand each individual’s unique challenges and goals, in order to tailor her therapeutic approach to meet their needs. She enjoys working with adults, adolescents and children to navigate various life stages and challenges. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based and approach, and she draws on evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She enjoys working with individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, substance misuse, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, and exploration and affirmation of gender and sexual diversity.
