about the booking process
How do I book an appointment?
You can schedule your appointment by calling our friendly reception staff on 53708125 or by completing the enquiry form through our website.
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
No, it is not essential to have a referral to make an appointment, however if you obtain a referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP before your first appointment you will be eligible for Medicare reimbursement. Please be aware that you aren’t required to obtain a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan if you are scheduled with one of our provisional psychologists because they are not eligible to provide Medicare rebates. Due to this, their appointments are offered at a flat rate of $118.00.
Can I choose the psychologist?
Yes, our ‘About Us’ page shows a detailed description of each of our psychologists, please feel free to choose one who may be more suited to you and phone our office to discuss their availability.
Can I make an appointment for my child?
Yes, we have psychologists who have experience working with children. Your psychologist will often spend the majority of your first consultation with you (the parent or guardian) to gather information and discuss the most appropriate structure of future therapy for your child. Please note any child who engages in therapy must have consent from both biological parents, excluding circumstances where one parent has sole responsibility for the health of the child. Should you require further clarification around this policy please contact our office.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please allow a minimum of 24 hours (1 full business day). Ie if your appointment is scheduled for 9am Monday, we would require notice before 9am on the Friday prior, otherwise you will incur a fee. Cancellation fees are calculated at 50% of your session fee for appointments cancelled within 24 business hours or no show appointments.
Please note calling our office is the most effective way to ensure we receive your message and you are welcome to leave a voicemail outside of business hours to ensure you notify us before the cancellation deadline.
Can I make an appointment without seeing my GP?
Yes, you may still make an appointment, however you would be required to cover the full cost of the appointment yourself. This cost may be claimed back from your private health insurance if you have the appropriate cover.
How many appointments should I book?
We recommend that you book 4 appointments at the time of your initial booking scheduled approximately 2-3 weeks apart, to ensure you begin therapy with consistent frequency. Our psychologists calendars are usually heavily booked so we encourage booking appointments in advance to avoid you missing out on an appointment time.
Do you offer telehealth services?
Yes, all of our psychologists are able to facilitate therapy through telehealth platforms if you prefer.
