about the payment
About the payment
The cost differs slightly depending on which psychologist you are scheduled with and whether you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan to receive the Medicare rebate. The cost per session is approximately $128.00 out of pocket after any rebates. Please call our office if you require clarity about prices.
Can I postpone payment for my appointment?
Payment is strictly required at the time of your appointment. If you are unable to make payment for any reason please contact our office to reschedule the appointment ensuring you provide sufficient notice to avoid any late cancellation fees.
Can I get a Medicare rebate?
You can receive a Medicare rebate if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP and have a Medicare card. Please be aware that you aren’t required to obtain a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan if you are scheduled with one of our provisional psychologists because they are not eligible to provide Medicare rebates. Due to this, their appointments are offered at a flat rate of $118.00.
Can I get a private health insurance rebate?
You may be eligible for a reimbursement through your private health insurance if you are:
a) Not on a Mental Health Plan from your GP
b) Have exhausted all of your Mental Health Care Plan sessions for the year
Please note we do not have the facilities to process your private health claim for you, therefore we will issue you with a receipt to make the claim yourself.
Do you bulk bill?
As a private practice we do not bulk bill appointments, however if you are experiencing financially strenuous circumstances you may be eligible for a reduced rate, which can be determined by your psychologist at your first appointment.
Can I claim through both Medicare and Private Health for an appointment?
No, as per Medicare guidelines you are not eligible to claim the gap through private health insurance if you are utilising your Mental Health Treatment Plan.
