Kimberley Brown is a General Psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families across private practice, community and disability settings. She has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent children and young people, including those with Autism, ADHD and developmental differences. She has experience treating children, teens and adults with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, grief, relationship challenges and significant life transitions.
Kimberley particularly enjoys equipping children and adolescents with practical skills to navigate real-life challenges and works to understand each young person within the broader context of their family, relationships, school and everyday environment. She works collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals to support positive change across different areas of a young person’s life. During her psychology studies, Kimberley also studied abroad in Austria, where she completed studies in Cross-Cultural Psychology, learning how culture, family, community and life experiences shape the way people understand themselves and the world around them. This training has equipped her to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Kimberley’s therapeutic style is compassionate, non-judgemental and collaborative, with a focus on understanding what matters to each person and tailoring therapy to their individual experiences, strengths and goals. She utilises evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and behavioural approaches.
